We all lose steam sometimes. Some of us will fall off. Others will fight back and get going again. You’ve got to get back on the horse and get back to lifting. It can be a few missed weeks (tragic, if you’re a young person…), a missed year, or maybe a missed decade!
I am not old enough to have a missed decade and after having missed 18 months of lifting in my early 30s, I am not planning on making that mistake again.
I think in your 30s you can go down to light weight for high reps. 95 lbs for men, 45 or 55lbs for women. Sets of 25+ striving for endurance and range of motion to build limber joints as you age. No need to blast heavy weights as you age.
One thing I have noticed many times is that my squat stance will narrow as my muscle mass builds up. A narrow stance squat is great for explosion and maximal “internal” range of motion in our muscles. You will know what I’m talking about when you experince the narrow stance.
I recommend you try to get your feet closer together on your squats to build explosion in a more advanced squat pattern.
